853 is Reynolds' flagship steel tubing. It is made from German-sourced, high-manganese alloy steel and is heat-treated for strength and dent resistance. The "Pro Team" series of tubes are the thinnest available, designed for racing frames.

Note: 853 "Pro Team" tubesets are supplied with 725-series seatstays. 725 is a heat-treated chromoly alloy, which pairs nicely with 853. Head tubes and BB shells for 853 tubesets are available in 525, 631, or 853-series, depending on size, and are noted in the dropdowns below.
